How can we connect with the Indifferent?

Have you ever come across people who say things like, "I don't want Christians to tell me about their beliefs; I don't need that in live my life," or "I can't see myself joining a church or a different religious group." You are probably familiar with this perspective—people indifferent to faith and religion. I can think of family members, neighbors, or my kids' teammates and their parents. As you might know, starting spiritual conversations with them is challenging.

Early in December, I (Tabo) worked with missionaries from the UK and Ireland in Birmingham to explore potential solutions during a one-week Design Sprint. The idea was to work in a rapid process to be able to design, prototype, and test two different alternatives with a group of people in this category. You can see here how our week looked:

We fully believe that to reach people we are currently not reaching, we need to do things we aren't doing now. By the end of the week, we were able to test a self-improvement approach, "Be your better self," considering that our audience is interested in self-improvement. The other solution was a packet of digital resources called: "What is the point?". We learned a lot during this week and will continue trying new tools to reach people with the Gospel. I'm grateful that technology today allows us to do that very quickly.

Prayer continues to be at the center of every effort. Innovation should be a key part of missions if we are going to reach the indifferent-minded. Please pray that God will grant us more creativity and a growing passion for the lost.
